The Black Bull XI play their first fixture of the 2009 cricket season on Sunday 17th May at Vernon's Cricket Ground, Penwortham.
The Bull's opposition for this fixture is the Duke of Darwen's XI, a renowned cricketing force who will be sure to provide stiff competition for our boys.
Final selection for the Bull's starting XI is not yet complete, but will be sure to include the likes of:
- Dave 'Fodder' Frankland
- Kepple 'Kep' Symcox
- John 'Ping Pong' Collins
- Adam 'Not So Talented as his Father' Gray
- Graham 'Al Murray' Skeoch
- Jamie 'Much More Talented than his Father' Skeoch
- ...and other assorted stars...
So, forget the Twenty20 World Cup, the West Indies' tour and the 2009 Ashes series... THIS is the big cricket event of 2009.
All are welcome on the day to support our heroes or, if you fancy donning the pads and joining the illustrious Black Bull XI, please contact Howard Gray via our Director of Cricket, Anne-Marie Isles (Anni) at the Black Bull Inn.
Wickets pitched out 1.30pm.
See you there!
